Reliability and limits

Official Landesarchiv/LEO-BW emigration-database entry checked 2026-09-13. It securely establishes that a Joseph Einstein of Laupheim with these attributes emigrated to North America on 29 July 1856. The index entry does not state age, birth date, or parents, so identification with P-025 remains a candidate rather than a proved identity.

Supported discoveries

The Joseph Einstein in the official 1856 Laupheim emigration entry is a plausible candidate for P-025, the Joseph listed in the compiled household of Isak and Miriam Einstein, and may document that child's emigration to North America.

The official LEO-BW entry records a single Jewish brewer named Joseph Einstein residing in Laupheim who emigrated to North America on 29 July 1856. P-025 is a Joseph Einstein in the reconstructed Isak/Miriam household, born about 1838 and already reported in compiled material as emigrating to America. The name, residence, religion, destination, and plausible age align, but the emigration index does not provide age, birth date, or parentage.
