Reliability and limits

Public researched memorial biography. It identifies Josephine Einstein as Siegfried's wife, describes their childless marriage, her 1939 emigration and later Stone name, and his deportation and legal death declaration. It cites local archival files, including S-025. S-025 has now been reviewed directly, but this memorial biography remains a secondary synthesis. Its 5 August 1909 marriage date conflicts with the 8 August date Josephine gave twice in S-065; the exact day is therefore left unresolved.

Supported discoveries

Josephine Einstein was married to Siegfried Schwarzschild in Stuttgart in August 1909.

Josephine's sworn declaration and petition independently identify Siegfried Schwarzschild as her husband and report their Stuttgart marriage. The Stuttgart memorial biography independently names the same couple.

Confirmed
Josephine Einstein and Siegfried Schwarzschild had no children.

Josephine explicitly answered that she had no children in both her sworn 1939 declaration and 1944 naturalization petition, after the end of her childbearing years. The Stuttgart memorial biography independently describes the marriage as childless.

Confirmed
Siegfried Schwarzschild was deported in 1942, transferred from Theresienstadt to Auschwitz on 16 May 1944, and disappeared after that transport. The compensation authority later fixed 31 May 1944 as his statutory death date; this was a legal inference, not a documented eyewitness death date.

S-025 images 0104-0105 and 0173-0174 record official findings based on ITS Arolsen and Israelite community evidence: compulsory Jewish-star wearing from 19 September 1941, deportation to Theresienstadt on 23 August 1942 (with a separate claimant account giving 22 August), transfer to Auschwitz on 16 May 1944 on transport Ea 1933, and disappearance thereafter. The authority treated the transport as a death transport, inferred death soon after arrival, and fixed 31 May 1944 under section 180(2) BEG. S-072 independently preserves the same broad sequence.
