Reliability and limits

Archival locator reported by archive staff on 16 and 28 September 2026, documented privately in S-110. Bestand A contains the Free Imperial City Memmingen records through 1803. Staff report a 1747 Fellheim list attached to a Secret Council protocol dated 22 April 1747, with a Daniel Einstein widow entry on the front. The records are chronological and unpaginated; staff report they are not digitized. STEINE has received and inspected no original image. This is metadata for an identified archival target, not an inspected primary source or an online facsimile. Staff describe a personal-toll exemption; the earlier literature-derived account describes a list sent for toll collection. That source discrepancy and the exact documentary context await inspection of the originals. The reported entry does not identify the widow's given name or establish parents, children, Daniel's presence in 1722, or an Albert Einstein connection.

Supported discoveries

Daniel Einstein was in Fellheim in 1722 and had died before 1747.

Bergmann explicitly reports a 1722 Fellheim population-list appearance for Daniel and a 1747 population-list description of Daniel's wife as a widow. Daniel's death before 1747 is an inference from the reported widow status, not wording verified in the original record. Archive staff now report a Daniel Einstein widow entry in A 401/7 (S-138); this supports the archival locator, but the uninspected report does not promote this claim.
