Reliability and limits
The official Stadtarchiv Memmingen Jewish-history guide identifies A 401 as the early-modern repository for Judenmandate/Judenordnungen and correspondence concerning exclusion of Jews. Its broader Reichsstadt holdings guide likewise labels file group A 401 simply "Juden." This is a strong collection-level locator for the 1747 Fellheim list reportedly sent to a Memmingen gatekeeper, especially because contemporary historical summaries place introduction of Memmingen's Leibzoll around 1747. The public finding aid does not expose an item-level description naming Daniel Einstein's widow, and no underlying archival image was available for inspection in this pass. It therefore narrows the archive target but does not itself verify the 1747 person-specific entry.
