Mendel Rosenberg was liberated by U.S. forces on 5 May 1945 and subsequently lived at the Feldafing displaced-persons camp, where he worked for the American Army before emigrating to the United States.

Mendel's first-person testimony describes liberation by the Americans on 5 May 1945 and his postwar move to Feldafing, including work for the American Army. The museum summary and later Army biography independently preserve the same broad sequence.
